Don't know if FileZilla can handle file download resumation, but for large
file downloads, I use free download manager, since I think it (like most of
them) actually initiates multiple sessions per file, and then just merges
the result into a single file which makes it a bit faster, and it can handle
resuming a download after restarting the machine.
Apart from it automatically catching download requests, you can also open it
and paste a URL into it initiating a download using Ctrl + Shift + V to sort
of paste the URL into it's buffer.
Like said in another email, I use FTP clients for managing content on two
websites I run - 1 is my blindza.co.za one, and the other 1 is the website
for my bike club where I manage the galleries, guestbook, etc. etc.
Stay well

Hum, I didn't know this. I just successfully downloaded a file from an FTP
server using a trial of Flash FXP, and each time I restart the computer or
the program, I'm first asked if I want to load the nonempty queue. So I
click load. Then I press CTRL+z to re-connect and restart the transfer.
I'm
then asked if I want to overwrite or resume. So I click resume all and,
amazingly, the file transfer starts as from the last time I used the
program. So you're saying FileZilla can also do this?

I use FileZilla, and it's free, and works perfectly fine as far as I'm
concerned.
Basically, you enter server name, username, password etc. then clicdk on
the
quick connect button, then tab through to the file system tree structure,
then to a file listing where you use the context menus to do things, and
if
you tab over from there, you get the server path, file/directory listing,
and upload queue etc., and it works fine/perfect.
Also remembers previous connection if you tell it you're the only user of
the computer during the installation.
Stay well

Hello all,
Please check out Flash FXP (www.flashfxp.com). It's a fantastic piece of
shareware, and it allows you to transfer files from and to an FTP server.
On
my broadband connection I can get up to 1.0MBPS transfer speed. Quite
accessible with screen readers. Not sure of the price, but you do have 30
days to try it out. Hope this helps!
