I just looked at the Tools Menu in IE 8. All you got to do is hit the Compatibility View in the Tools Menu. Then you go back to the Tools Menu and hit the compatibility view settings then you go to the dialogue box that says enter the web site. Everytime you view that web site it'll be like you are viewing it in IE 7. It is basically like a toggle key. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jacob Kruger" <[email protected]>

Yup.

Also tried things like trashing all cookies/offline content etc., but didn't help, and apart from all of the specific things, my computer has hung up a few times in the last week or so while trying to browse some relatively common sites like news sites, youtube etc. and every time when I had to hard restart it by holding in the power button, IE would come up with it's dialogue offering to reopen my previous session due to an abnormal restart or something, and while this might be a combination of other software running in the system tray, jaws and IE 8 or something, it never happened as often before.

Stay well

Yeah, I also had problems accessing certain web pages with IE 8 and went back to IE 7, and now everything is find and dandy again.

Apart from the issues I suddenly had with regard to trying to edit emails I was either replying to or forwarding in OE due to (I presume) the virtual buffers etc., I also now yesterday got blocked when trying to search for one or two things on google, and the error/page returned said something like:
error 503, access denied

Was something relating to the site thinking I was actually a webcrawler engine or something trying to carry out an automated search or something, and I can only think it might have related to something like IE 8's cookie handling/content processing or something, but either way, now that have gone back to IE 7 it all seems alright again - let's see how it goes anyway...

FWIW, am using Windows XP Pro, and Jaws 10 at this stage.

Stay well
