I had an old work Armada XP laptop once which used to freeze in a similar
fashion. The solution was to unplug the power supply, release the battery
for 5 seconds , reinsert the battery , replug in and reboot. It is a hassle
but probably quicker than allowing the battery to discharge.

Sometimes the only way out of a crash appears to unfortunately remove all
power sources.
Hope all is ok when it eventually reboots.

Regards

David Griffith

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Unusual problem with laptop

Hello all,
Has anyone heard of the below.
Hannah put her Vista laptop to sleep. When she woke it up the entire machine

froze and she can't even power it off, despite holding it for more than five

seconds.
Never heard this before and it's quite worrying. I've just told her to let
it completely discharge.
Thanks in advance for any help regarding this.
