I know that with a previous Laptop I had, it did that. That Laptop ended up breaking. I think it was because I used to let it sit there unattended too much. My best recommendation is, when you are not using your computer, turn it off. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Annette Carr" <[email protected]>

My Del laptop has started doing something similar to this. Sometimes after
I have walked away from my laptop it will go to sleep, hibernate, stand-by
or something. Most times when I return to my laptop all I need to do is hit the down arrow and press enter and I'm back in. There are other times when nothing will get it to come back on except for holding down the power button for at least 30 seconds or more. This has happened when working off both AC
and battery.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Unusual problem with laptop

Hello all,
Has anyone heard of the below.
Hannah put her Vista laptop to sleep. When she woke it up the entire machine froze and she can't even power it off, despite holding it for more than five
seconds.
Never heard this before and it's quite worrying. I've just told her to let
it completely discharge.
Thanks in advance for any help regarding this.
