Hi Marilyn,

What I have done is copy Icons/program shortcuts that I don't use very often
into the start menu and delete the Icons from the desktop. I used to have
something like 50 or more icons on the desktop and now I only have 14.
Granted, I have a lot of programs in the start menu but, that is very easy
to navigate especially when they are programs I don't use frequently. If
you don't know how to place things into the start menu the steps are below.

1. Select and copy the item to the clipboard.

2. Go to the desktop and open My Computer.

3. open Local disc C.
4. Open Documents & Settings.
5. Arrow to the folder with your name, the name folder and press enter.
6. Press the letter S until you get to the start menu or arrow down until
you get to the start menu.

7. Press enter on the start menu and paste your item in there.
8. Sometimes you have to create a shortcut through the context applications
key. If you paste a shortcut you need to delete "shortcut to" from the
item.

Hope this helps. Take care.
Mike
