I have done so for some of those drivers, but I probably need to do it for all of them.

Thanks,
Nance

Hi,
I was just going to say that you should take a look in Device Manager and
try updating the drivers for the individual USB devices. Also, if that
branch of the tree view for USB is closed, Windows thinks all is well.
I have seen Windows throw a driver for USB with no apparent reason for it.
Good luck.

Jon

Good suggestions, John, and I have tried the cord in another USB port, as
well as connecting my device to another computer, on which it works. This
tells me I probably have some kind of USB issue, so I'm going to do one more thing, which is to connect another USB device to the computer and see if it
works, then probably figure out what to do next. Perhaps uninstall and
reinstall USB drivers?

Hi Nancy,
Have you tried a different usb port on the off chance that it's the
port and not the device that's giving you trouble?
Also, if you can disconnect the cord at the other end, try another usb
cord and see what happens.

Jon

I've tried rebooting, I've taken the unit off the computer and
rebooted, then rebooted again with it connected, I've done everything!
I don't get it!

Thanks for trying,
Nance

I have an external hard drive with music on it. I accessed it
yesterday from this computer, but no matter what I do, it will not
recognize it today.
How
do I get the computer to recognize it? It's a USB device.

TIA,
Nance
