hello Chris
thank you for that
this would of been a lot easier if i was still sighted and doing it for a
blind person because naturally if i was still sighted i wouldn't be with
these sites
however i will save your email and go through it with my i t instructor when
she calls here sometime this week
it may be that she conducts the twitter account for me or tells me what to
type in
if this is the case then fine but i know i will encounter other times when i
will need to use this system
so hopefully she will guide me through it
Yvonne

Yvonne, it tells you all in the instructions. Basically you log in to
Twitter first, open the page where the captcha is, do a screenshot and
paste
that into Paint. You then save that image as a 256 colour bitmap file. You
then log into Solona and upload that image. When an operator's there it'll
say on, and vice versa. Hope this helps.

Hi Yvonne,
Solona is not a program but a web site. Save solona.com in your IE
Favorites list for easy retrieval. Before you use it, visit the Learn
page
(the link right after the login/register link on the Solona home page)
and
hit Enter on the link labeled "How Solona Works: to familiarize yourself
with the instructions before you try to use it. It is a little tricky,
so
read over the instructions a few times to be sure you understand them.
Once
you feel comfortable with the instructions for submitting captias, you
can
visit the registration page for Twitter and sign up.

I just registered with Solona and submitted an image captia to put it
to
the
test. To my amazement, it actually works! But it is somewhat more
complicated than Webvisum. At least there is now an alternative to
Webvisum
that can be used with IE. Thanks, Bruce.

There's aoso www.solona.net, which is browser and platform
independent
because captchas are solved by humans.

Yvonne, the only benefit to Firefox these days is Webvisum, the

Yes IE and Firefox can co-exist on the same machine, but only one
browser
can be set as the "default", i.e., what browser should open when
links
are clicked outside the browser. Hope this helps.
