So is AVG Internet Security's firewall, but that's commercial. I found
others though to block out JAWS to the point it won't load unless I allow it
to.

I have never used Zone Alarm, but I suspect that some features may be
disabled in the free version. Perhaps you should consider switching to a
more JAWS-friendly firewall, if there is such a thing. Everyone loves to
bash Windows Firewall, but at least it's simple and accessible.

I did a Google search and found a quick tutorial.
It says to right mouse click on the zone alarm icon in the system tray
and then click on shut down. I tried that, but a shut down button does
not come up.
I'll just keep playing with it.
