Hi Marilyn,
As has already been mentioned, you can open a Word document, or text file, 
and then paste from the clipboard.
This only works if it is text that is on the clipboard.
if it is a file or folder, then you would have to paste it into a folder to 
see it.
Alternatively, you can use a utility which can be found under the 
miscellaneous heading at:
http://www.blind-computing.com/system_utilities/system_utilities.php
It is called, Clip Clear
There is another way to view the Windows clipboard, but it doesn't come to 
mind right away.
