Hello Dean.
first let me say that I really enjoy your Top Tech Tidbits. Several options
come to mind where Home pages are concerned. Verizon is now marketing an
entirely new home page which provides all of the requirements you mentioned.
It has News TV listings, several find functions, current events and all of
the information is indeed programmable. In fact, if you enter your zip
code, Verizon will do much of the work, itself.
At this point, the new Beta version is still in the testing stages but even
now, the current web site is very blind friendly and very helpful. Comcast
also offers quite a variety of choices on their page but it isn't nearly as
adjustable as Verizon's version.

A student has asked for recommendations for a straightforward web page
containing news and information, easily navigable, and perhaps
customizable
to allow for local content or special interest topics. Any suggestions?
