Is your flash drive formatted to NTFS? Normally, flash drives come formatted to FAT32, which has a size limitation of 2gb. So maybe you actually only successfully downloaded 12 files instead of the 45 you thought. Just a hunch.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Flash drive losing memory

Hi All,

Yesterday I put approximately 8 giggibites of files on a 16 giggibite flash drive. There were roughly 45 different files. Today all the files are gone except for 12 of them. What would make all these files disappear like that?
All help/ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take care.
Mike
