Hi,
doing the below will force Ms-Config into selective startup mode, it's
always better to take the program out of startup within its own options. The
different messenger clients have a checkbox for that under I believe,e
tools/options.

ah ok. Also reading your last message something you can try is to go into
run and type in msconfig. When it opens control tab to start up tab and
uncheck the thing that pertains to windows messenger. When done hit ok and
you will need to reboot. When this happens messenger should no longer start
up. Hope this helps.
