The great thing about NVDA for Jaws users is that most of the important and common keystrokes are identical.
So insert F12 will tell the time and date. Insert up arrow will read current line Insert down arrow say all Insert b - read dialogue box in foreground Insert T read title of application Insert F will report the format of font And most usefully of all NVDA has the same keystroke to turn keyboard help on. That is insert 1 and NVDA will read out the function of keys that you press. To open a text file with all the keystrokes for NVDA press Insert N Then cursor down to help and then select quick keyboard reference from the sub menu.
