[Blind-Computing] switching monitor off on compaq 615 laptop

Hi all

Can any one be of asistance on how to get my screen switched off and to stay 
off until I give the command to switch on on a compaq 615 laptop?

I found a program nircmd.exe, but the screen goes on as soon as I touch the 
mouse pad or press a key.  There is also no function key combination I know 
of that will do it on this laptop.

Any ideas please?
