Another option is to use a bill payer service. The credit union I do business with will send checks our electronically with no charge to the customer. You can do a one time check or for recurring bills you can set them to automatically pay when they are due.

The only thing is I have to use that removable Scotch Tape, it is number 811, which sticks about like a post it note, it sticks but is easily removed, to attach my check to the top left hand corner of a letter size sheet of paper to run it through my printer! The checks are just too too small to run through my HP 950c printer! I usually print all my monthly checks at one setting, so I just use one sheet of paper! But I have been doing it like that for many years!
