Hi Hamid,
I wouldn't discourage anyone from installing and using older software,
sometimes it works better than what is termed as, "the latest and the
greatest".
I have been using WinAmp 2.8 since Windows 98, and have had no problems with
it,
possibly since it has less in it than the newer versions.
Of course, which version you use will depend on what audio needs you have.
Since I dedicate certain tasks to different programs, I don't need WinAmp
for anything
more than playing my audio files, and it works right out of the box with
Jaws.
Sweet little program with the right price tag. smile
HTH,
Rick Justice

You'd better install one of the latest versions of Winamp, not version 2
which is an old one. The newer versions have more features and work very
well in terms of accessibility. I had version 5.35 installed in my machine
for years, however, i've upgraded to version 5.572 recently. This latter
works quite well except that i need to rely on jaws cursoring while
assigning hotkeys. Jaws has built-in scripts for winamp that allow you to
get very useful information quickly, but still there is a very good script
developed by ultra universe which give you a better experience using
winamp; as it offers additional facilities and keystrokes.
As for WMP, i really don't like it as I have to tab all along the window
to get to do something easy like forwarding ... Winamp really is the best
for me
Hope this helps

Hi All;
I am thinking about installing WinAmp 2.80. Do I need to uninstall WMP11
first? What are the differences between WinAmp 2.80 and WinAmp versions
504, 508, 534,& 535? I am just trying to decide which of the WinAmp
programs to go with. Also, should the plug-ins be installed with the
program that I decide to go with? I am running XPSP3 Home& Jaws 10
latest.
All help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks much. Take care.
Mike
