It would either generally come up with a suggested path, or else it's trying
to extract files that might then be accessed to carry out actual
installation, etc.
Sorry, but it really can be different from package to package as such, so,
off-hand I'm not too sure what's happening, but would suggest let it extract
the files to a temporary folder initially and then do something like have a
look at them to see what it has then put there.
Haven't done it for quite a while, but depending on file types, you might
then just need to tell something like the device manager to look for new
drivers etc., but anyway - sorry.
Stay well

But which directory should these files go into?
When I tried to go through the installation process it wanted to know
where the files should be placed. I had no clue.

Generally that would carry out a real install process, copying files
where needed, and notifying the operating system about them etc., so,
yes.

So, Jacob, Can I just install this driver from the .exe file? I assume
it will know where to place the driver?

If you go here, you'll then need to select which version of that model,
and then you will hopefully be taken to the driver download section of
the HP site for the specific model's driver software:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=366373
There's a table on that page with links to specific model versions.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Display driver
It looks like I need an updated driver for my HP Pavilion ZD7000
laptop in order for it to install video intercept. Yeah, I'm still
trying to work on this problem.
My question is:
Because I can't seem to not only download that driver, but I can't
even find the thing on the HP site. Is it necessary to use an HP
driver and if not, what can I substitute for it and where can I get
what I need?
Thanks for any help here.
