well, it sounds like when you installed the new avast program update, and
went to system tray to access the avast,
you have lost all focus with jaws.
I just got a similar message from a friend, stating the exact behavior.
Now I'm not saying this is the case with all computers, however, this is
what I've experienced with a friend.
I helped him remove avast, and installed, MSE.
note, however,
if you want to access avast,
you can do this from the desktop,
and do your updates from their.
or, change settings, etc.

all of a sudden when I press the ult key to go to the file it goes to the
file but when I press the up or down arrow it just says top of window and
bottom of window how do I get it to read everything again in the file
menue?
