I'm afraid I'll have to agree with Gerald here. I tried using an old version
of Jaws with IE 7 and it didn't work. If I thought it would work with IE 8,
I would have already upgraded. I haven't upgraded because I can't afford to
buy a higher version of Jaws.

There's no way such an early version of JAWS could work with IE 8. The
earliest version of JAWS that's known to work with IE 8 is JAWS 9.

I did not have to change any settings to get internet explorer eight to
work with my version of Jaws 4.5
windows update just down loaded it and that was it.

My brother-inlaw said that firefox was more secure than internet
explorer.
I
know firefox works great with NVDA. Maybe IE 7 or 8 would work great
with
it
too. I have Jaws 5.10 and that won't work with the newer versions of
internet explorer.
I'll give it some thought and let you know if I decide to upgrade or
not.
