Hello there. It doesn't matter if you change a name of a shortcut. The place the computer looks at, or target, is in the properties for it. You can call the shortcut whatever you want just as long as you don't change the target in the properties.

hi,
I am not sure how you can return the shortcut that you renamed to its original name. but you can go to your start menue under programs and open the sub menue and arrow down to the item you want and then press your applications key and select send to and arrow down to where it says desk top create short cut and enter on it and it will make a new short cut for the icon that you renamed.
hope thhis helps

hi
thank you for that
i have just deleted the ones i don't want
i can find some of the programs in the windows p for programs
however some are not mentioned it could be that the programs had been
removed earlier and the short cut /icons still remained on the desktop
not sure how i can find out if they have or not
and one more thing i renamed one of the shortcuts and i don't think it will
work now
how can i return the shortcut to what it originally was?
thank you
Yvonne
