Copy and paste this path in your run dialogue:
C:\Windows\System32\Narrator.exe
try it on your computer to insure it works.
I believe this path is valid for all versions of windows from XP up to 
Windows 7.
If not, run a Google search for the path to the Narrator.exe file on a Vista 
computer.
did we discuss why you don't just place a copy of window eyes or jaws on a 
thumb drive and try to install a screen reader in that way?

Andre, I do have sound because I hear the Windows music when booting up.

I suspect the former user has some special way to get in.

If I could just get Narrator going, Hopefully I could find out what's going
on.
