Did you look in the Recycle bin?
Down arrow through each folder in My Documents making sure you did not 
accidentally rename the folder with a blank press of the spacebar resulting 
in Jaws not reading anything at all even though folder is still there.
Using Windows Search look for files and folders modified today.

this is awful; I still can't find it, after doing what you suggested.  I
even did a jaws find in which I entered c:\mymusic and nothing was found.
