The keystroke for opening attachments is Insert + A. Try checking this,

to options, Security page, & tab to " Block images and other external
content in HTML e-mail ,"
if this box is checked, uncheck it. Tab to okay, press enter, & go ahead
& reboot the computer. What AntiVirus program are you running? Let us
know

been and done that but still can't open attachment
