Who knows - my guess would still be that some key was toggled as in use, or something, but who knows.

Glad sorted.

hello there;

well, I finally got the selected problem solved.

she has 2 versions of jaws on her computer, both were saying selected for
each item,
and, they were not indicating if a box was checked or unchecked,
so, I did an re-install of both versions, and now?
no more select select, select,

I have no clue what went wrong though.

So, did you try those keystrokes to see if that's what's causing it...?

On just a laptop keyboard, they get handled a bit differently - if the
machine is set to laptop keyboard layout?

Another simple way to see if this might be causing it, is to turn on
keyboard help - insert/jaws key + number row 1, and then see what keystrokes
it reports thereafter.

hello there;

yes, this selected behavior is apparent with both versions of jaws,

not sure what is causing this.

Jaws key + numpad / key will toggle the holding down of effectively the
left
mouse button, which could then do something like this.

Might not be the issue, but anyway.

Alternatively, sticky keys could have locked the shift key in place - and
that gets activated by pressing something like the left shift key 5 times
in
a row.

good morning all;
a friend of mine is running windows7 jaws 11&12,
on a 64bit machine.

every time she moves her arrow keys, jaws says selected.

I went to computer/tools/options/view,
and I made sure that,
Use check boxes to select items is turned OFF.
regardless, each time the arrow keys are moved, jaws still says selected.

this goes for desktop,
documents,
etc.

does anyone have a clue/solution?

have a good day.
