Hi thanks for your response;

I did ask, if she had another keyboard we could try, answer was no.

the laptop has a full size keyboard, with numpad, I thought maybe this was
the issue,
but, everything I did, still yield not selected, selected.
in fact, I couldn't tell, which items were checked, in the view menu,
and I had real difficulty trying to set up a second MSOutlook profile for
her, because, when I was creating the email account portion of the profile,
jaws would not read and say, checked box check or not checked.
it was strange.
anyway, I finally got her computer operating normally.

again thanks for the suggestions.

have a good one!

OK, strange then, but glad it's working now.

Only other thing would have suggested you try otherwise would have been
another keyboard, plugged in externally if on a laptop, etc., but anyway.

For example, not relevant, but recently my mother and brother thought her
normal windows XP machine had problems, until I explained to them that as
soon as I changed keyboards, suddenly it was operating fine again since
seems that old keyboard had some physical issues - don't know exactly what
had happened to it to make it happen, but on the top row of the main part of
the keyboard, only the `/~ and backspace keys worked - everything inbetween
from the number 1 through to the =/+ sign did nothing at all.

Stay well
