Did you load the software for this printer from a cd or did you go to the HP
website and download it? I had this happen with another HP printer. What
happened was that Windows had changed something in one of their updates and
the ccd looked like it installed but wouldn't work. I downloaded the
software, went through the install and it works perfect! May just be the
disk is out of date.

Hi, I checked all of those settings and it still won't print the document.

First, I'm not using Office 2007, but the end result should be the same.
I'd go to the Control Panel, Printers and faxes and see if that printer is
set as your default. While you're there, cancel any documents that are
waiting to be printed for that printer. Also check to see if that printer
is showing Ready.
When you are in Word and click on print, if you tab through those boxes,
you should be able to see if it is set to go to that printer.
If all that is true, we'll have to go on from there. The only time I've
had trouble with the test page continually printing, is when I first
installed my HP and after the test page printed, I forgot to click on the
OK button to say that it had printed correctly.

Is this a new installation?

Hi gang;
could someone please offer some suggestion as to why I am having this
problem with printing a document?
Both the power and USB cables are connected and I get the add device
sound each time I power up the printer. The printer prints its test page
even though I can't remember telling it to do so. Yet I can't seem to
print a document in Word. I am using Office 2007 if that should matter.
I want to believe that the power cord is not faulty since the printer
gets electricity but is it a problem with the USB cable not feeding data
to the unit? Have I made some configuration accidentally that prevents
this from happening?
Your help with this problem would me greatly appreciated and greeted
with the strongest of gratitude since I am way behind in presenting my
monthly report at work in addition to wanting to print some other
important documents for submission to a seminar.
Eagerly awaiting your responses.
Thanks in advance of your generous offerings.
