Interestingly, I have also recently found this same issue. I go to
google, and nothing is apparently there. I can exit and go back, and it
is fine. I have turned off the instant search, and save my preferences,
but it still happens from time to time. Or, sometimes, I type my search
query into the edit box, hit enter, and nothing happens. I haven't
investigated very far, since exiting and going back seems to work most of
the time, but it is annoying.
I have found this on an XP box running JAWS 11 and a Windows 7 box also
running JAWS 11. Neither box runs avast, one runs MSE and the other
Symantec.
It started happening about two or three weeks ago.
