Hi Alan. Barbara might get questions about what the device is. All she has to do is to tell them that it's a note taker designed for the blind. This is unlikely, but they might scan the device for security reasons. If she has any files on it, I'd recommend that they be backed up on a disk just in case.
There's no way to tell what security people might do. But normally, they don't scan laptops or other devices including things like Blackberries.
