Hello, The voicenote from Humanware will do what you ask and more, it's basically like the braillenote, the only difference being that it doesn't have the expensive braille display, but you can get it with a braille keyboard.
As a braille and speak doesn't have any communication features, like gps, wifi, internet gprs or modem connectivity, it shouldn't interfere with any flight procedures. There was a small audience and the people were intrigued about what the B&S could do. However, I shut it down when we were touching down in Miami. At this point, I am looking for a machine which will work like the Braille & Speak but will also be able to send and receive messages and work with other applications. Not a laptop computer. Any suggestions? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan Dicey" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 11, 2011 11:11 AM Subject: [Blind-Computing] A question about a Braille 'n Speakand flying > Dear Friends, > I do not have a Braille 'n Speak, but a friend does and is worried about > taking it on a airplane with her, getting it past Security I suppose with > them perhaps damaging it. > Please read her message below. > Can some one please give me some advice I can pass on to her? > > Thanks so much! > > With Best Regards, > Alan > Miami, Florida > Alan Dicey, President > United States Braille Chess Association - USBCA > "Yes, Blind and Visually Impaired People, Can, and Do, Play Chess!" > United States Braille Chess Association Home Page: > http://AmericanBlindChess.org > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Barbara > Sent: Saturday, June 11, 2011 10:45 AM > Subject: ? > > > Alan, i am leaving for Florida on June 27.
