More strange stuff.
I ran my McAfee virtual technician and was told there were 5 errors, and
McAfee repaired them.
After this, I was able to delete the "normal" file.
This is also interesting, JAWS speaks the number of points when there is a
"blank" on the page.
For example, if I paste a document copied from the web there are "blanks"
when reading by word.
These blanks seem to be at the end of sentences.
When I delete the "blank", JAWS 14 does not read the number of points.

Hi Rich,
The path you need to follow for Windows XP home would be as follows;
C:\documents and settings\user name\application data\microsoft\templates
Important: note that where I have put in User name you must use whatever
your profile name is such as Rich or Richard or something ike that as an
example.
Now when you get into templates look for Normal.dot and delete it.
Paul.

Hi Richard,
You could go into the following area if using windows 7 and delete the
"Normal template".
Note that where I have placed user name this should be your user profile
name.
C:\users\user name\appdata\roaming\microsoft\templates
Then open up Word again and see if it has cleared the issues you are
having.
Paul.

I posted this in JAWS but had no response.

Hi all. I have XP home and 14.0.
In "word",sometimes when I use the up or down arrow to read a line, I
hear, something like, 72 points or another number.
It seems to happen if there is a space before the sentence.
If I use "control arrow" I don't hear the "point" message.
How do you turn this feature off?
Another question.
I have had many strange issues with "word". For example, it may not load
until I restart the computer.
Or, it may suggest starting up in "safe" mode.
Or, when reading by line, it may read the line twice.
Is there a way to search if something is corrupted.
Or, are there any suggestions on "all" the settings that are good with
JAWS
users?.
Thanks for all of the help.
Rich
