I don't have a Chromebook, but rather a notetaker which is an Android tablet fitted in a case containing a Perkins-style braille keyboard, braille display, and speakers for sounds, including speech if I so choose. The company integrated their software with Android so that, in the case of their own apps or those by Google, speech and braille work seamlessly out of the box. With third-party apps, it just depends how accessible they are and-or how much fiddling a user is willing to go through to make them accessible, if that's even possible. It depends on the app. So although Linux probably underpins Android, I don't want to jailbreak this expensive equipment trying to put Ubuntu on here. If it isn't in the Play store, I don't want it. Nothing against straight Linux, by the way.
