Yes. In Alter, all I do is go to the input bar, enter computer braille so the 
system recognizes symbols for things like the equals sign as such rather than 
as a short form of a word, then type the name of the alias followed by the 
enter key. After that I type whatever commands I want for the alias, each on 
its own line, type the word /done on its own line at the end, and return to 
literary braille. To execute the alias I stay in literary braille and type the 
two or three letters I've chosen for its name. Sometimes I have to put a letter 
sign in front of it so the system doesn't think it's a short form, but that's
