Totally agree. I like games with a challenge to it. Without the
challenge what is the point of playing?
I remember the first time I played SOD. One of the reasons I baught the
game at all is that for a while I played for two months before I beat
the game at level 1. I must have played the game for a year before I
finally beat the game on Today is a Good day to die. Even now that level
is in doubt without cheat codes.
If I just walk in and can complete level after level with little to know
serious resistance and then the game is just passing time. there is no
quest, no challenges, no skills required to over come the problem.
Coming back to my SOD example the first few times when I left Area 3 and
entered Area 4 I was so low on ammo, batteries, I had to live or die on
what I did next. Not just on one ocation had to fight enemies with the
knife for more ammo. that was a tuff battle, ruff game, but that sort of
challenge was fun as well as frustrating.
