I don't know how many times I've either unsubscribed or left altogether in
the past, mostly over the James North flame wars. I wondered for a time if
the list had lost control and if a name change was in order. LOL As
frustrated as I am over raceway, having paid for it years ago, I'm still
willing to give it a chance. Constructive criticism is one thing but the
flame wars drive me crazy. Even though the moderators came down hard on
Kellie's post, I understand and agree with it. Of course it's up to the
moderators to decide what to do about things here. Do know though that more
than one person has either left, or seriously considered it over the flame
wars. I wish more people would work with each other rather than against.
With as much time and energy as I've seen trashing one man operations for,
what are perceived to be "inferior" games to our sighted counterparts, it's
a wonder that developers are still willing to even develop and release games
for us. For those who really believe that what we have in games is that
inferior, create your own superior games, use your energy in other pursuits
rather than flaming those who are trying to work with us. Submitting
constructively criticized bug reports is one thing and should always be
encouraged along with suggestions. Once a game has been released,
remembering the early days of Alien Outback, James has proven himself
willing and capable of listening to constructive criticism and bug reports
that are given in a mature manner and each version of the game only got
better than the one before. I see that Monty's going to get the same
treatment with promised patches. Thank you.

Thank you to all the developers out there who are trying to improve and
change the face of accessibility in gaming for the blind. True, there is
more I'd like to see, maybe an Everquest type of game, for instance, but I
also recognize that the budgets aren't large, especially when dealing with
as specialized a market as we are, a large number of us on some form of
limited public assistance. May the games continue to get bigger and better,
and may we spread the word that there are accessible games now out there for
the blind. With a larger income base, and a happier reputation in the
community, new people will feel more welcome. Best of all, if the resources
and finances are out there to develop, the games will become better I'm
convinced.

For me, it's sad to see someone like Kellie stretched to the point where she
felt that she needed to post her thoughts, controversial as they are. It's
sad for me as well to have to agree. Rather than put her down for her
thoughts, no matter how people think they were worded, I hope we can work on
the community to better and empower ourselves and the community so that this
will become a place of escape from the drudgeries of everyday life. Games
are created as an escape, not as a source of contention. Let's all work
together to make the community the same. If some of us are not willing to
do so, let's have some respect for the others and purge ourselves from the
community for a time until we can come back with a more appropriate
attitude.

You know, this is a great list bar a few trouble makers. I still don't have
any idea why they have remained here.

Hello all,

I agree with Kellie, I have thought many a time, to leave this list,
and I must admit it's getting more frequent, but as there are more
than one game out there, it's what keeps me going.

Can I just ask, before sending a message, 'STOP' think, will this
enhance the on going thread, or will it only hinder it. That way,
those who belong to a number of lists, 'yes' I know it's the
individuals choice, how many lists they belong to, but over the last
couple of weeks, I must have Deleted well over a thousand messages,
and many of which were unread, I only belong to a few, less than six.

Come on, lets just cool off, give the Chaps and Chapesses a chance to
provide us with what we want, and I think on the whole what they want
to give us, yes, at a cost they and only they can set.

Sorry for the rambleing, but I just had to get it off my chest.
