Ok I found the problem. I was not selecting the device. Once I selected the
device and then went down to the menu to assign the joystick controls it
came up working properly so problem solved here. I did look at the game
controlers under the control panel but I don't believe you should have to
adjust that at all as long as when you plug in the device it recognizes the
game controler. I am planning on getting one of those racing wheels in the
not to distant future but for now this joystick will work. By the way the
joystick is the Saitech st290 and I bought it at radioshack for 21 bucks.
It's a close out so scoop it up right now if you want one.
