I have done this in the past and it worked fine. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert J. Moore Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2006 12:55 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [BlindHandyMan] installing a power cord
Ron I was thinking about the idea of a continuity tester, I don't have one ready made but let me run this by you and see if this will work. I hope I can explain it well enough. I have an old home stereo in the garage with detached speakers. of course each speaker wire has 2 strands a left and a right. Now if I took for example the left strand and cut it some where between the speaker and the stereo and hooked one end up to the ground post of the new cord and then touched the other end of the speaker wire to each of the 3 bare wires one at a time. I assume when I find the correct wire I will complete the circuit and get sound from the speaker. the other 2 wires will not make contact and I will not get any sound. Are my instructions clear enough? and if So, will this work?
