Mark,

The Tissot is larger and heavier than the typical braille or tactile watch.
I have a Seiko Braille watch, as well. The Seiko is a bit smaller in
diameter, thickness, and weight. The Tissot feels a bit more rugged on the
wrist. Actually, I had the same problems with the Seiko that Dale was
complaining about. The crystal would open in and of its own accord. The
Seiko is a nice watch, but I like the Tissot more, for any number of
reasons, not the least of which... It feels more like a Man's watch. I put
it on and my voice gets deeper and raspier... R'a'a'a'a'r'r'r'r!

As for your statement...
"Now I want one of them, even though I don't have the slightest excuse to
buy one."

Hello? This is the blind handymans' list. A watch is a tool. Since when
do any of us need an excuse to purchase a new tool? As for the price, we
all know and appreciate the fact that expensive tools are better than less
expensive tools. That's just the way of the blind handymans' world.

Mark, this watch isn't a necessity for any of us. It's just an indulgence,
a luxury. Who, with the possible exception of me, deserves it more than
you?

--Barry

Barry,

The Seiko Braille watch that I bought a while ago still keeps perfect time,
and I was more than happy with it until I read your note about the Tissot
Silent-T. Now I want one of them, even though I don't have the slightest
excuse to buy one. While I restrain myself, can you tell me how the size
and weight of the Tissot watch compare to those of the usual flip-top
Braille watches?

                                Thanks,
                                Mark
