Hello list, Does anyone have experience with securing the tread of a shoe that is starting to peel off? The tread is rubbery and the material that it was attached to is spongy.
I assume if I try to use contact cement the heat created when bonding would probably melt something. Hot melt from a glue gun will be to stiff if I can even get it in between anyways. Rubber cement I guess would probably peel back over time caused by the flexing of the shoe. So I have been tempted to try ElmerÂ’s glue. I have not tried this yet, I believe that I have both the paper and wood types available. Does anyone know what would work well for this type of shoe repair?
