I have been waiting for someone else to jump in on this one. The reset button is a thermal device which pops when over heated. Usually this is because too much electricity has been pulled through it. This may happen from prolonged draw or from a fault in the electric system, it is a protection device like a circuit breaker. Quite possibly nothing is wrong, the unit may have been running hard for an extended period like during a very heavy hot washing day, maybe it was a little touchy because of some thump or bump. It could be that the elements are becoming scaled up a bit too much or the bottom one buried in sediment so it is over heating.
Unless this becomes a habit or it won't reset I wouldn't worry about it. It may be useful to drain a few gallons of water off the bottom if the drain doesn't get crudded up and develop a drip in which case that will have to be changed, my instinct would be to leave it alone particularly if it is an aging appliance.
