Did the same system here. Except I did it with 7/16 OSB board in the
basement and garage. Several people liked the system and did the same in
their garage and basement. In the basement I screwed 2x4 to the plate and
screwed the bracket rail to the 2x4 in a area that is shaped like a J.
Giving me   shelving 8x 12x25 feet four shelves high, or a total of 180
feet. Sure improved the basement by giving us a lot of storage at a very
reasonable cost.
