I have done a lot of that here, mostly though I was able to open a wall and 
recover it with drywall. Cutting plaster & lath is hard to do without making 
a mess of it and it destroys saws.

I would like to know though how you pull cable into an existing box. The old 
ones usually have a sort of bayonet fitting with a pinch screw arrangement 
into the box and are inaccessible from inside the box.

Anyway, a lot of it is just damn hard and dirty work and tough on the hands.
