Good way to fix the problem real easy and save a butt load of money is to
unhook the unit from the door and call it a day. Also a good way to give
your arms some exersize.
When I moved out here to the farm the garage had those old doors that were
one solid piece. They would swing out at the bottom and in at the top. I
finally had them replaced. Biggest reason was quite frankly I was concerned
that they would some day come completely undone and fall on some ones head.
Wow that could really ruin a guys day.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] electric garage door problem

Yesterday I was sitting in the garage when my wife came home, and when she
tried to open the garage door, the motor started working, but the door
wouldn't go up. So after telling her to stop trying to open the door
because something was wrong, I went back in there and check to make sure the
chain didn't jump off the sprocket, and the cable didn't come off the
pulley. Okay, I check both the sprocket and pulley, and both were okay.
Today, I'm going to look for a reset button, but doubt there is one. Has
anyone ever experienced this problem, and if so, how did you solve it? I
hate to have to call for a repair man to come out, these bastards cost to
damn much.
