Hi Dan, I have the VIP 1001. I have a gas furnace, and central air.The technician took a look at the thermostat by removing it from the wall and inspecting it, and said it was only capable of running a one stage unit. Another words, both heat and air would start out at a low speed, and stay at the low speed never making it to full speed. the correct way the unit should run , it should start at the lower speed then kick into the higher speed until it gets near the desired temperature, and then it drops back down to the first stage and goes off. Then once the thermostat kicks on either heat or air, it will run only at the first stage to maintain the desired thermostat setting. It's actually a money saving feature. I do hope this made sense. \ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dan Rossi" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 25, 2007 7:49 AM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] keep in mind when buying a talking thermostat`
