Dear List Members:
I started using Mobile One, back in the sixties when I owned a high
performance vehicle, and I had no problems with the oil. I had some problems
with valve clatter, but that was the result of buying unleaded fuel which did
not have the octane needed for the high compression engine I had in the car.
I traded the car with eighty thousand miles on it, and it was a powerful
car when it left my garage. Do I wish I had it back?
I have not used synthetic oil in the low compression engines we have today,
but I have no doubt that it is better and will help make an engine last much
longer and give a small improvement by reducing friction, although the oils of
today are also better and there is not, in my opinion, the large jump between
the high quality standard oils and synthetic.
If I were driving a vehicle fifty or a hundred thousand miles a year, I
would opt for the synthetic or if I once again had a high performance engine, I
would go for the best.

                Yours Truly,

                Clifford Wilson,
