OK, it has happened so seldom, not sure if it happens in the beginning when
the unit first kicks on are not? Like I say, I can't hear the out side unit
in side, so I don't even realize there is a problem, for a little while when
the air isn't cooling. The system is 8 years old It happened one time last
summer, and twice this year, And that's all. Strange deal.

  don,
If it happens just as the compressor kicks on, it may be a loose connection
causing resistance so that the compressor can't start as fast as it should
and pulls too heavy a load for too long thus tripping a slowblow
  breaker.

Or the lines or breaker may just be a bit marginal for the demand.

Or the breaker could just be old.

Or it may be the phase of the moon
