Any thing up to one inch ID I use a clipper to cut the pipe. I glue the first piece into the fitting and take the pipe to the second fitting and cut the pipe even with the flared out part of the fitting. Haven't had any problems doing the cutting to length this way. Also I found turning the fitting a quarter turn seems to solve the problem with the fitting having any leaks. RJ
