I would refer you to Lenny's response as it was much more expansive.

His first answer was intriguing. His remarks toward one part epoxy was 
amusing.
that was the only epoxy I could use satisfactorily till I was told that I 
was not mixing it well enough.
That plumbers epoxy really works.
I used it on two  pieces of metal, and can not pull them apart even 
getting my feet into the act. Glad as I like that it worked.

Silicone glues will do the same for tile and glass.
