spiro, they're called inverters for weird historical reasons. They turn 12 volts D.C. into 120 volts A.C. Some come as complete packages with battery and charger built in.
You have to consider the actual power required by your intended load device, if it's electronics will probably wor fine. Some less expensive inverters don't produce clean enough A.C. wave forms to work well with devices that contain transformers, as often you get what you pay for. You don't want to use inverters with anything that needs lots of power I.E. heaters or appliances that produce heat etc. or heavy power tools. tom Net-Tamer V 1.13 Beta - Registered
