Not handyman related, so if folks want more info, email me directly or we
can move this over to the blind like me list.

I have a Nokia E65 Smart phone. You need one of these high end smart
phones running the series 60 Symbian operating system.

I've got an email in with talknav.com to see how much it would cost to
purchase Talks, (the screen reader), a GPS receiver, and WayFinder Access
from them.

If you were trying to do it as inexpensively as possible, you could get
the phone and Talks with a deal from AT&T. Purchase a second hand GPS
receiver from EBay, and use LoadStone instead of WayFinder Access.
LoadStone isn't as feature rich as WFA but it is free. You could do that
whole rig for less than 400 bucks.

The smart phones do everything, email, web browsing, calendar, alarm, MP3
player, audible.com book reader, instant messaging, text messaging,
camera, some of them have radios, blah blah blah.
