I have found a lot of the information about the digital conversion to be
pretty confusing. Not surprisingly, the info from my cable company is
pretty biased toward doing something in their favor.

If you have a digital convertor box from the cable company, you won't need
to do anything with your TV. If you have a newer TV, like a 27 inch or
larger, set purchased within the last three years, it probably has a
digital convertor built in.

If you take your TV signal direct from the air, (no cable), or like me,
have no convertor box, just the cable going straight into the TV, you will
need to get a convertor box or a new TV.

The feds will be coughing up 40 dollar coupons for anyone making less than
some amount of household income, to purchase a convertor box.

I was poking around on the comcast website, my local cable mafia
affiliate, and it is pretty impressive how expensive cable is these days.
I have the most basic cable possible, only the network channels, and one
or two other stations and it costs me $16 a month. If I upgrade to the
next best thing, it jumps up to like 50 bucks a month. What a gouge!
